Sticking with just privates in the long run will only make you more dependent on the instructor and slow down your progress. The best way to achieve pilates in your body is when you work independently and that’s when the magic happens. Privates are great when you are brand new to pilates, to fine tune exercises you are already familiar with and have questions about, and also it gives you a chance to explore other exercises in the system.

In open class you can spend the time to explore the exercises you went over in your privates independently instead of spending numerous and infinite private sessions on exploring the exercises and not getting anywhere close to fine tuning and adding!
